Rajasthan Faces Surge in Coronavirus Cases
Rising COVID-19 Cases in Rajasthan
The increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Rajasthan has raised alarms within the health department once again. Daily, numerous individuals are falling victim to this virus. In the last 24 hours, the state reported 21 new infections, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 625. Among these, 245 are currently active cases, while 379 individuals have recovered. Tragically, the virus has claimed the lives of two people so far.
Demographics of Recent Infections
Among the 21 newly infected individuals, there are two elderly persons over the age of 80, alongside 15 young adults aged between 18 and 35. A total of 25 patients have been admitted to various hospitals, while the remaining individuals are under home isolation. The health department is actively monitoring those in home isolation.
Majority of Cases from Jaipur
Approximately 60% of the cases in the state have originated from the capital, Jaipur, where 383 individuals have tested positive this season. Other cities reporting cases include Udaipur with 79 and Jodhpur with 36. Additionally, Chittorgarh has recorded 14 cases, while Ajmer and Didwana have reported 10 cases each. COVID-19 cases have emerged in 35 out of 41 districts.
Health Advisory Issued
In response to the rising infections, both the central and state governments have issued advisories. The health department has recommended that individuals wear masks in public spaces and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Although it is claimed that the new variant of the virus is not as dangerous as previous strains, it is crucial for the public to remain cautious.
