Rajasthan Border Faces Tensions Amid Ceasefire Violations: What’s Happening?

Ongoing Tensions in Rajasthan's Border Areas
Jaipur: The border regions of Rajasthan remain tense following recent ceasefire breaches by Pakistan, causing widespread concern among residents.
A blackout was enforced in these areas, with reports indicating drone sightings and explosions in locations such as Jaisalmer and Barmer.
Revant Singh, a local from Jaisalmer, noted that drone activity had decreased compared to the previous nights.
He stated, “Drones were observed in the sky, clearly violating the ceasefire declared on Saturday.”
Both Jaisalmer and Barmer experienced drone incursions on Thursday and Friday nights, but Indian defense forces successfully intercepted the drones, preventing any casualties.
Debris from drones and missile-like objects was discovered in various sites on Saturday.
The ceasefire announcement provided some respite, allowing markets in Jaisalmer and Barmer to reopen later in the evening, and the blackout in Barmer was lifted.
The duration of the blackout was also reduced in Jaisalmer and Jodhpur.
Despite the ceasefire, reports of violations emerged shortly after, prompting another blackout in Jaisalmer, Barmer, and surrounding areas.
Tarendra Singh, a resident of Jhinjhinyali village near the border, remarked, “We heard about the ceasefire and saw markets reopening, but around 9 pm, drones were again spotted, accompanied by explosions, though less intense than before.”
He added that shops were operational and life was returning to normal.
In Barmer, debris from a drone was located in Burtiya village on Sunday, with additional drone activity reported in Anupgarh and Ganganagar.
