A Historic Celebration for Rajasthan Assembly
Jaipur. The 75th anniversary of the formation of the Rajasthan Assembly will be celebrated with great enthusiasm on Wednesday. Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani stated that this unique event will be a first for the assembly. He mentioned that this is the inaugural program of the Amrit Utsav. Current and former members of the assembly will be present, along with MPs elected from Rajasthan in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, who have also been invited. Preparations for the event are in full swing at the assembly. Devnani emphasized that such a program has likely never been held in any assembly before, making it a remarkable and historic occasion.
Devnani announced that Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will attend the ceremony. The Vice President will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony, while the Lok Sabha Speaker will be the chief guest at the opening. The event will commence on July 15 at 10:00 AM and conclude at 4:00 PM the same day. Governor Haribhai Bagde and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will be distinguished guests at the event.
During the Amrit Utsav, two sessions will be held in the afternoon to discuss significant laws passed over the past 75 years. Sixteen experienced former and current legislators will engage in discussions on 24 laws. Notably, former legislator Pandit Ramkishan, who is 100 years old, will also be present along with several other former members.
Devnani remarked that the Amrit Mahotsav of the Rajasthan Assembly is a celebration of democratic traditions, legislative achievements, and a commitment to public service. This event aims to connect past experiences, present accomplishments, and future possibilities. Special recognition will be given to former assembly speakers, deputy speakers, and senior legislators. This celebration will showcase the pride of Indian parliamentary democracy, highlighting a remarkable synergy of experience, tradition, innovation, women's empowerment, youthful energy, and public trust.
