Rahul Gandhi's Strong Message to Congress Workers
On Saturday, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha and a Congress MP, issued a stern warning to party workers in Punjab, urging them to adopt a team-oriented approach or face consequences from the party leadership. Speaking at a public gathering in Barnala, he emphasized that no individual leader is greater than the party itself. He stated, “I want to convey a message to Congress as well. Success comes from teamwork; one player cannot win the game. Our entire team is present here, and I want to stress the importance of being a team player. Otherwise, we will have to reserve you, regardless of your stature.”
Rahul made it clear that regardless of their position, no one is above the party. He reiterated, “Be a team player. If you fail to do so, both Kharge ji and I will take necessary actions. Our true strength lies in our workers; they are our real power.” His remarks come amid rumors of factionalism within the Punjab Congress ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
The rift among Congress leaders intensified when former MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu resigned from the party on February 1, just months after being suspended. She reiterated allegations of corruption against Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. In her statement, Sidhu accused Warring of colluding with the Aam Aadmi Party and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to undermine Congress.
She described Raja Warring as the most disgraceful, incompetent, and corrupt president, claiming he had conspired with the Chief Minister to ruin Congress while avoiding jail time. She criticized him for selling the party for minor gains through collusion with the AAP. Sidhu also questioned the fate of the nearly 12 senior Congress leaders who worked with Majithia to harm her, suggesting they were rewarded with significant positions for their efforts to defeat her. Rahul Gandhi was addressing the Congress Kisan Mahachaupal in Barnala, where he also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the India-US trade agreement framework.
