Upcoming Visit by Rahul Gandhi
Uday Bhan, the Haryana Congress chief, announced on Monday that Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, will visit the state on June 4. During his visit, he will hold discussions with senior leaders of the state unit regarding various organizational matters. Speaking to the media, Bhan mentioned that on June 4, Rahul Gandhi will address all AICC and PCC observers at the Haryana PCC office as part of the organizational creation campaign. This visit is seen as a significant step towards resolving factionalism within the Haryana Congress.
Bhan stated, 'Rahul ji is coming to address and guide us on the 4th.' He will first meet with senior leaders associated with the organization at 11:30 AM. In a press conference, B.K. Hariprasad, in charge of party affairs, along with PCC president Uday Bhan, announced the list of 69 HPC observers and eight additional observers who will work towards building the organizational cadre in the state.
Among the 69 observers, who have been assigned specific districts, are notable figures such as Jitendra Bhardwaj, Suresh Gupta, and Ramkishan Gurjar (executive president of HPC), along with former legislators like Rao Dan Singh, Balbir Balmiki, and Kailash Saini, a former Congress MP.
Responding to the question regarding the Congress not declaring a CLP leader by October 2024, Hariprasad mentioned, 'A committee has been formed to finalize the CLP leader, who will also be the leader of the opposition in the Haryana Assembly. The committee has submitted its report to the party high command, and a final decision will be announced soon. As for the newly announced observers, the party will not tolerate any form of indiscipline.'
