Rahul Gandhi's Upcoming Voter Rights Journey
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to commence a 'Voter Rights Journey' across 30 districts in Bihar starting from August 17. Originally scheduled to begin on August 10, the journey was postponed for a week due to the passing of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Shibu Soren. The journey will now kick off in the district headquarters of Sasaram in Rohtas.

During this electoral journey, various senior Congress leaders and members of the Grand Alliance are expected to join Gandhi at different locations. Further details regarding the journey are yet to be disclosed. State Congress leaders indicated that Gandhi and the Grand Alliance leaders may address issues such as the recent Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Bihar voter list conducted by the Election Commission, deteriorating law and order, unemployment, and the migration of workers.
According to senior state Congress leader and party MLC Prem Chandra Mishra, this tour will span 13-14 days, covering multiple districts and concluding in three phases. Bihar's Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and party leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are also anticipated to accompany Gandhi during this journey. Vadra had previously highlighted the SIR as a significant issue that the government should be willing to discuss.
