Rahul Gandhi's Visit to Bhopal

On June 3, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi arrived in Bhopal to bolster the party's grassroots efforts and energize workers for the upcoming 2028 Madhya Pradesh elections. Prior to launching the campaign, he addressed a meeting of the Congress Political Affairs Committee, engaging in discussions on key issues with senior party leaders. Upon his arrival at the airport, he received a warm welcome from Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath.

Later, Gandhi chaired a meeting at the state Congress office in Bhopal, attended by General Secretary Harish Chaudhary, AICC Organization In-Charge K.C. Venugopal, Patwari, Nath, former CM Digvijaya Singh, Opposition Leader in the MP Assembly Umang Singhar, and other party officials. The state Congress unit later issued a statement noting, "Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi addressed the Political Affairs Committee meeting held at Indira Bhawan in Bhopal and discussed significant issues with all senior leaders."


Additionally, reports indicate that Rahul urged party leaders to put an end to factionalism and work collaboratively. He emphasized that no decisions would be imposed from above, encouraging collective decision-making and promising to implement necessary changes if required. The meeting also included former state Congress President Arun Yadav, former MP Sajjan Verma, senior Congress leader Vivek Tankha, former Opposition Leader Ajay Singh, and former Women’s Congress President Shobha Ojha.
