Meeting with Students Facing Online Harassment

In a recent engagement, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, met with students from the 12th grade who have been subjected to online harassment, being labeled as anti-national and agents of foreign influences. This situation arose after these students voiced their concerns regarding discrepancies in their answer sheets following the announcement of the 12th board exam results. A significant uproar was triggered when one student claimed that the board had mistakenly uploaded another individual's answer sheet under his roll number. Subsequently, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) acknowledged its error and promised to expedite the investigation.

Gandhi's Remarks on the Students' Experience

Rahul Gandhi shared a video of his discussion with the students on social media platform 'X', making a sarcastic remark about the situation. He stated, "An interesting conversation with my fellow anti-national Soros agents." He further emphasized that Vedant and his peers are intelligent and courageous young Indians who posed straightforward questions to the CBSE and the Modi administration but were met with insults instead of answers. He affirmed their right to a bright and secure future and pledged to ensure they receive it.

CBSE Admits to Uploading Incorrect Answer Sheet

This meeting took place after the CBSE admitted to its mistake, confirming that an incorrect answer sheet for physics had been uploaded under the roll number of student Vedant Srivastava. Following the revelation of this technical error, the board provided the student with his correct answer sheet. Rahul Gandhi criticized those who had trolled Vedant online, highlighting the unjust treatment he received.

Students Face Accusations of Being Anti-National

During the conversation, Vedant shared the emotional toll of the online abuse he faced, stating, "They started calling us anti-national and Pakistani. Some believed we were agents of a 'deep state' trying to create unrest in India." In response to Vedant's comments, Rahul Gandhi condemned the online attacks, asserting, "You have nothing to do with this. You were merely asking for your answer sheet, and suddenly you became anti-national."

Acknowledging Issues is Key to Resolution

The opposition leader also took the government to task over this issue, stating, "To resolve a problem, you must first acknowledge its existence. You are simply refusing to recognize what the real issue is. You are blaming these innocent children and accusing them of being part of a deep state, spies, or terrorists. This is completely wrong."
