Rahul Gandhi Honors Ambedkar on His Birth Anniversary, Warns Against Erosion of Constitutional Values
Tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
On Tuesday, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, expressing concerns over certain forces attempting to systematically undermine Ambedkar's legacy and the Constitution. He emphasized his commitment to defending Ambedkar's ideals with all his strength.
In a post on social media, Gandhi remarked that Ambedkar not only provided India with a Constitution but also envisioned a robust nation founded on justice, equality, and respect. He warned that current forces are deliberately weakening this legacy and the Constitution, hollowing out democratic institutions, suppressing rights, and attacking the concept of equality.
Gandhi stated, "This country is built on Ambedkar's thoughts, and I will fight with all my might until my last breath to protect them. Together, we will realize the India of Baba Saheb's dreams."
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also took to social media to honor Ambedkar, acknowledging him as a visionary leader who endowed India with its moral and constitutional essence. He noted that Ambedkar was not only the architect of the Indian Constitution but also a warrior for freedom, equality, brotherhood, and justice.
Kharge added that in the face of conspiratorial attacks on the Constitution, Ambedkar's words and warnings resonate with renewed urgency. He called for a moment of courage and conviction, urging that we should not only remember Ambedkar but also rise to protect every principle he established, every right he secured, and every value he lived and fought for. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and several other party leaders also paid their respects to the Constitution's creator on Ambedkar Jayanti.
