Students Gather for Rahul Gandhi's 'Echoes of Students' Event
On August 8, a significant number of students attended the 'Echoes of Students' program led by Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, in Prayagraj. Following the event, attendees expressed a range of reactions. Himanshu Tripathi, who is preparing for the NET exam after completing his postgraduate studies at Allahabad University, remarked, “Rahul effectively raised important issues concerning students, but there’s no assurance that he will address these if he comes to power.”
Meanwhile, Rashmi Yadav, who is preparing for competitive exams, shared that she attended to understand Rahul Gandhi's perspective on students' futures. She noted, “All politicians make grand statements from the podium, but their priorities often shift once they are in power.”
Rakesh Maurya, who traveled from Chhota Baghada, expressed, “Rahul won everyone’s heart with his words. Children from poor families face numerous challenges to complete their education, yet they continue to wait for job opportunities.”
Shashi Prakash, who came from Banaras Hindu University, stated, “Rahul Gandhi has tapped into the pulse of today’s youth. He understands the struggles that young people are facing. Following the incident at Jantar Mantar, expectations from Rahul have risen.”
During the event, Rahul Gandhi engaged with several students on stage, as well as conversed with many others seated further away.
Despite muddy conditions and standing water at KP Ground, a large turnout of students participated in the event.
