Rahul Gandhi's Strong Critique of Modi's Foreign Policy

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a fierce attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments regarding the crisis in West Asia, asserting that India's foreign policy has weakened and devolved into a personal agenda. Speaking to reporters in the Parliament complex, Gandhi claimed that if the Prime Minister's image is tarnished, so too is our foreign policy. He further alleged that Modi's personal approach has transformed India's diplomatic stance, which is now perceived as a joke by many.

In his remarks, Gandhi accused Modi of compromising India's foreign policy amid escalating global crises. He stated that India's diplomatic independence has been compromised, with the government operating under the influence of countries like the United States and Israel.

Linking his criticism to global perceptions, Gandhi noted that U.S. President Donald Trump is well aware of Modi's capabilities and limitations. He reiterated his claim that the decision-making process at the highest levels is not independent, emphasizing that the Prime Minister will act according to the directives of the U.S. and Israel, rather than prioritizing the interests of India and its farmers.

Addressing the ongoing tensions in West Asia, Gandhi also expressed discontent over Modi's mention of the COVID-19 pandemic during his speech in Parliament. He remarked that the Prime Minister delivered an irrelevant address, stating that as the leader of India, he should conduct himself appropriately. Reflecting on the hardships endured during the pandemic, Gandhi stated, "Modi ji mentioned that a time like COVID is approaching again. He seems to have forgotten what happened then, how many lives were lost, and the tragedies that unfolded." He suggested that referencing the pandemic in the current context reflects insensitivity and a lack of understanding.
