Rahul Gandhi's Criticism of BJP's Economic Policies

On Wednesday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi expressed his disapproval of the BJP government's policies, which he claims have adversely affected small businesses, particularly targeting the Vaishya (trader) community. He extended his full support to this community, framing their struggles as a battle against the BJP's feudal mindset. Gandhi voiced concerns over the community's challenges, warning of the negative repercussions of government actions on the economy.

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi stated that the business community is on the brink of collapse, describing the distressing cries from the Vaishya community as deeply unsettling. He noted that a group historically significant to the nation's economy is now engulfed in despair, signaling a warning. The government has granted monopolies free rein while binding small and medium traders with bureaucratic red tape and flawed GST policies.

He accused the BJP of promoting monopolies and imposing bureaucratic burdens and flawed policies, such as incorrect GST, on small traders. In his post, he emphasized that this is not merely a policy failure but a direct assault on production, employment, and India's future. He declared this a fight against the BJP's feudal mentality, asserting his unwavering support for the Vaishya community, regarded as the backbone of the nation's trade.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi also criticized the ruling BJP government for not discussing the Developed India-Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) Bill, 2025 (VB-G RAM-G Bill) in Parliament. He alleged that this bill is designed not to foster development but to bring about destruction, which will cost Indians their livelihoods. Gandhi remarked that there has been no public discussion, no parliamentary debate, and no consensus from the states—asserting that the Modi government has bulldozed both MGNREGA and democracy. He concluded that this is not development but destruction, which will force millions of hardworking Indians to lose their means of living. He encouraged reading an article by Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi that highlights every aspect of this serious issue.
