Gandhi's Accusations Against Modi and Vijayan

During a rally in Palakkad on Monday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of forming a political alliance ahead of the Kerala Assembly elections. Addressing his supporters, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha stated that there is a person in Delhi who believes that no one else can lead India but him, referring to Modi, and similarly, there is someone in Kerala who thinks he is the only one capable of leading the state. He highlighted their arrogance, suggesting that both leaders think they alone can govern Kerala and the country. They are partners in this regard, supporting each other. Gandhi pointed out that while Modi frequently speaks about God, Hinduism, and religion in his speeches, he avoids discussing issues like the Sabarimala temple and the gold theft in Kerala.

Gandhi's Personal Struggles and Allegations

Gandhi further claimed that he is a primary target of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Income Tax Department, and the BJP's media cell. He mentioned his extensive 4,000-kilometer walk from Kanyakumari to Kashmir as part of his fight against the BJP. He revealed that he was interrogated by the ED for 55 hours and is currently out on bail after his Lok Sabha membership was revoked. He emphasized that he is being specifically targeted by these agencies.

Questions Surrounding Vijayan's Integrity

He raised questions about why there has been no investigation into Pinarayi Vijayan and his family, accusing the BJP of not attacking the Kerala Chief Minister. Gandhi asserted that everyone knows Vijayan is corrupt, yet Modi avoids discussing issues like the Sabarimala temple or the gold theft to protect him. He also referenced an advertising campaign in Kerala featuring the Chief Minister's image with the tagline 'Who else?' suggesting that no one else can effectively lead the state.

Support from Kerala Amidst Political Attacks

Reflecting on the support he received from Kerala during his struggles against the BJP, Gandhi noted that while the BJP was attacking him daily, the people of Kerala stood by him. He acknowledged the care he received from both UDF and LDF supporters. When he needed security, the entire state rallied to protect him. He accused the LDF of launching a new campaign in Kerala that links the Chief Minister with the BJP, stating that the LDF's attitude towards the BJP mirrors what he would do. He claimed that Donald Trump controls Narendra Modi, who in turn controls the Chief Minister of Kerala.
