Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Modi Government Over Alleged Surrender to Trump

In a recent address, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of capitulating to US President Donald Trump during Operation Sindoor. He contrasted this with the Congress-led government's actions in 1971, asserting that they stood firm against US threats. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari responded, claiming Gandhi's remarks reflect his values and suggesting he has a soft spot for Pakistan. The discussion highlights ongoing tensions between the two political parties regarding national security and foreign relations.

Rahul Gandhi's Strong Remarks Against Modi Government

On Tuesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the Narendra Modi administration, accusing it of capitulating to US President Donald Trump following his ceasefire proposal and claims of mediation during Operation Sindoor.

Gandhi emphasized that it was the Congress-led government that successfully bifurcated Pakistan in 1971, despite facing threats from the United States.

'A Pattern of Surrender'

Speaking to Congress workers in Bhopal, Rahul stated, "I have come to understand the RSS-BJP well. They tend to retreat in fear when faced with even slight pressure. When Trump asked Modi, 'Modi ji kya kar rahe ho, Narender-Surrender,' Modi complied. In contrast, during the 1971 conflict, Indira Gandhi stood firm against the US Seventh Fleet. This illustrates their character; they have a history of surrendering since the Independence movement."

Rahul Gandhi also shared on his X account, "A call came from Trump and Narendra ji immediately surrendered – history is witness to this. This is the character of BJP-RSS; they always bow down. In 1971, India broke Pakistan despite American threats. The lions and lionesses of Congress fight against superpowers and never bow down."

'BJP's Response to Gandhi's Claims'

In response to Rahul Gandhi's comments, BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari remarked, "Rahul Gandhi's statements reveal his values as he makes such inappropriate remarks about the Prime Minister. This behavior is expected from someone whose heart beats for Pakistan. When he pays tribute to his grandmother, Indira Gandhi, he does not even remove his shoes. Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, India has effectively countered Pakistan's terror activities. The public perceives Rahul Gandhi as an agent of Pakistan."

Understanding Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor commenced on May 7 as a decisive military action in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, primarily tourists, due to attacks by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. The Indian Armed Forces targeted terrorist infrastructure in both Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the elimination of over 100 terrorists. Following a call from the Pakistan DGMO to his Indian counterpart, both nations agreed to halt military operations.
