Opposition Leader Calls for Accountability

On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, accused the central government of failing to address concerns regarding the NEET exam paper leak controversy. He demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and emphasized the need for a robust examination system to prevent future leaks. Gandhi stated that the Congress party will continue its fight for students affected by repeated allegations of paper leaks across the country.

A Strong Stand Against Paper Leaks

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi declared that they will not cease their efforts until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns and a secure system to prevent paper leaks is established. He expressed that this struggle is for every student whose future has been jeopardized by the government's failures. Gandhi criticized the government for forcing students to protest due to the recurring leaks of examination papers.

Highlighting the Youth's Struggles

Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he pointed out that while Modi was sharing videos of distributing sweets in Italy, young people in India were taking to the streets demanding justice due to the paper leaks. Gandhi further claimed that the NEET paper leak has ruined the futures of millions of students, alleging that some have even lost their lives as a result. He condemned the central government for not removing Dharmendra Pradhan from his position and accused BJP-ruled states of using force against protesters demanding action on this issue.

Continued Protests and Calls for Reform

Gandhi remarked that a government that responds to students' concerns with violence does not operate on accountability but on fear. He reiterated that the opposition will persist in its campaign for examination reforms and accountability. On Thursday, Congress workers marched towards the BJP state headquarters to protest alleged irregularities in the NEET undergraduate examination. Police set up barricades to stop the protesters, used water cannons to disperse the crowd, and detained several demonstrators during the protest. The NEET-UG exam, held on May 3, was canceled two days later due to allegations of paper leaks.
