Rahul Gandhi's Strong Remarks on Election Commission

On Saturday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi once again targeted the Election Commission of India (ECI), attributing the party's repeated defeats in the Gujarat assembly elections to its actions. While addressing Congress leaders and workers during the party's 'Sangathan Sujan Abhiyan' camp in Anand, he labeled the Election Commission as 'biased' and emphasized the necessity of defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its stronghold of Gujarat.

As the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, he assured party workers that the top leadership of Congress would consider their opinions before selecting candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. He also stressed that the party's leadership stands firmly with its workers in the state. Following the camp, Congress leaders and workers praised Rahul's speech while also delivering sharp criticism of the Election Commission and the ruling BJP.

Naushad Solanki, the district chief of Congress in Surendranagar, mentioned that Rahul claimed the umpire was biased, which led to the party's loss in the 2017 Gujarat assembly elections. Solanki remarked that in cricket, if you keep getting out, you start doubting yourself, but then you realize it's not your fault; it's the umpire's bias. Rahul's words instilled confidence in us, as he pointed out that the party lost the 2017 elections due to the ECI's questionable voter list.

Solanki further noted that Rahul compared the country to a temple, asserting that the BJP and RSS decide who gets the offerings. He reiterated, "Rahul emphasized the critical need to defeat the BJP in its bastion of Gujarat. He informed us that the party believes we must work hard to defeat the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and several other states. If we can overcome the BJP in Gujarat, we can defeat them everywhere." After the camp, Rajdeep Singh Jadeja, the Rajkot Congress chief, stated that Rahul urged party workers and leaders to address the issues faced by people in various cities and districts.
