In a recent statement, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP and RSS for their opposition to the terms 'Secular' and 'Socialist' in the Indian Constitution's preamble. He argued that the Constitution promotes equality and justice, which the BJP-RSS find troubling. Gandhi asserted that their true agenda is to replace the Constitution with Manusmriti, aiming to strip marginalized communities of their rights. Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal echoed these sentiments, condemning the RSS's remarks as an insult to the Constitution and a direct attack on the Supreme Court. Rahul Gandhi's Strong Remarks on Constitution

On Friday, Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, voiced his concerns regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding the terms “Secular” and “Socialist” in the Constitution's preamble. He criticized the BJP and RSS, stating, “The Constitution bothers the BJP-RSS because it emphasizes equality, secularism, and justice.”

In a post on X, he remarked, “The true intentions of the RSS have been revealed once more. They are troubled by the Constitution because it advocates for equality, secularism, and justice. The RSS-BJP do not desire the Constitution; instead, they seek Manusmriti. Their goal is to deprive the marginalized and impoverished of their rights and re-enslave them. Their actual agenda is to take away a powerful tool like the Constitution from the people. The RSS must abandon this dream – we will not allow them to prevail. Every patriotic Indian will defend the Constitution until their last breath.”

This statement followed comments from RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, who questioned the inclusion of the words “socialist” and “secular” in the Indian Constitution's Preamble on Thursday.

Earlier, senior Congress leader and MP KC Venugopal condemned Hosabale's remarks, asserting that they insult the Constitution, reject its principles, and directly challenge the Supreme Court.

In a post on X, Venugopal stated, “The RSS’s relentless pursuit to undermine the Constitution is never concealed for long. Beyond the BJP’s superficial acknowledgment of the Constitution, their underlying agenda has consistently been to distort and dismantle it, as it contradicts the fundamental fascist ideologies of the RSS-BJP.”

He further emphasized, “A senior member of the RSS should be aware that the Supreme Court has recognized socialism and secularism as integral to the Constitution's basic structure. To take such a stance is a blatant insult to the Constitution, a denial of its values, and a direct affront to the Supreme Court of India.”

Addressing the media regarding Hosabale's comments, Venugopal remarked, “There has been a form of undeclared censorship in this country. Over the last 11 years, India has faced a sort of undeclared emergency. Where are our constitutional institutions? What is the Election Commission doing? Every constitutional body has been under attack by the BJP and PM Modi.”
