Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Assam CM Amid Election Campaign
Rahul Gandhi Addresses Rally in Assam
In the lead-up to the Assam Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi delivered a powerful speech at a large public gathering in Biswanath. He launched a fierce attack on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, accusing him of serious corruption and nepotism.
Allegations Against Himanta Biswa Sarma
Gandhi asserted that Sarma has made a grave mistake by involving his family in corrupt practices. He warned that if Congress comes to power, strict legal actions will be taken against him. With a sharp tone, he emphasized that the Chief Minister would not escape accountability and would face imprisonment.
Congress Will Not Spare Himanta
Labeling Sarma as the 'most corrupt Chief Minister' in the country, Gandhi accused him of engaging in politics of hatred. He stressed that Sarma is anxious, knowing that Congress's 'lions' will not abandon him.
Celebrating Assam's Diversity
Highlighting Assam's rich diversity, Gandhi remarked that the state is like a bouquet of flowers, with each community contributing to its true strength. He praised the Gorkha community for their significant contributions, particularly in defending the nation at its borders.
Allegations of Delhi's Control
Gandhi accused the Assam government of being controlled from Delhi. He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah possess detailed information about the Chief Minister's corruption, which is why Sarma follows their directives. He reiterated that Sarma's family would also face legal repercussions in this corruption case.
Congress's Strong Stance

The Fight Between Hatred and Assam's Pride
In Guwahati, Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi targeted the BJP, stating that there is significant discontent within the party. He noted that Sarma's desperation is evident. Imran characterized this election as a battle between 'hatred and Assam's pride,' asserting that the BJP lacks any achievements to showcase, leading them to repeatedly resort to issues like illegal immigration.
Upcoming Elections
Voting in Assam is scheduled for April 9, with results expected to be announced on May 4.
