A Significant Win for Students Amid Protests

New Delhi: On Monday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hailed the decision of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) chairman to take leave as a significant achievement for the protesting students and youth who raised concerns over alleged misconduct within the recruitment agency.

Gandhi emphasized that the chairman's departure is a step towards a thorough investigation into the corruption claims.

He expressed his sentiments on social media, stating, "This is a monumental victory for students, a triumph for the youth, and a success for the principles of Satyagraha."

The MPSC candidates concluded their 10-day protest late Sunday after the Maharashtra government established a committee, led by senior IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe, to investigate the alleged irregularities, including instances of paper leaks.

Following this development, MPSC Chairman Vivek Bhimanwar declared that he would be on leave until the inquiry is finalized.

A government delegation, headed by Minister Shivendra Raje Bhosale, met with the protesters and assured them that most of their demands had been met.
