Call for Change in Examination System
On Saturday, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha and a Congress MP, expressed deep concern over the emotional toll that paper leaks have inflicted on numerous families. He emphasized the urgent need to overhaul the examination system to ensure the safety of students and justice for parents. In a post on social media, he recounted a conversation with the father of Riya, a student who tragically took her own life following the NEET paper leak controversy. Gandhi highlighted that this incident reflects the profound sorrow experienced by many families. He shared that Riya's father, Rajesh, was so devastated by the loss of his daughter that tears filled the eyes of everyone who witnessed his grief. This tragedy is not isolated; the paper leak has robbed many families of their children.

Gandhi stated, 'Behind every name, there are parents who now see no future.' He insisted that the system must be rebuilt from the ground up to provide children with security instead of stress, and parents should reap the rewards of their sacrifices, not tears.' These remarks were made during his 'Students' Echo' program in Dehradun, following his discussion with Riya's father. During their conversation at the Bannu school grounds, Riya's father expressed his sorrow over losing his daughter and urged Gandhi to raise this issue in Parliament to prevent other families from facing similar tragedies. He recalled how his daughter returned home joyfully on May 3, and when he inquired about her exam, she was excited. However, upon hearing about the paper leak, she showed him the news on her phone. Initially, he dismissed the report as false, but she insisted that the paper had indeed been leaked.
