New Delhi: On Saturday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi apologize to students for the 'corrupt' examination system in India, asserting that students do not seek his 'forgiveness'.
In a post shared on X, Gandhi criticized the Prime Minister for his remarks about 'forgiving' students, highlighting that Modi has not reached out to any parents whose children have tragically taken their lives due to the stress caused by leaked exam papers and canceled tests.
"There is nothing more heartbreaking than witnessing a parent mourn the loss of their child," he expressed.
He emphasized that each young life lost leaves behind a family burdened with grief and raises serious concerns about the failing education system.
During his visit to Tamil Nadu, where he met families affected by these tragedies, Gandhi stated, "Leaked papers and canceled exams have obliterated years of hard work. Our students are urged to act with integrity in a system that lacks honesty."
The opposition leader pointed out that Modi has yet to meet with any grieving parents or students whose futures have been compromised by these issues.
"India's students do not require his forgiveness; rather, he owes them an apology," Gandhi concluded.
