Discussion on India's Manufacturing Challenges

During his recent trip to Germany, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed the declining manufacturing sector in India, emphasizing the need for increased production to enhance the economy. In a video shared by Congress leader Alok Sharma, Gandhi reflected on his visit to a BMW factory, describing it as a remarkable experience. He expressed particular delight in seeing a TVS motorcycle with a 450cc engine, noting its potential for success. He also mentioned the pride he felt seeing the Indian flag flying at the facility.

In the video, Gandhi stated, "India needs to ramp up production. Production is the key to any nation's success. Our manufacturing sector is in decline; it truly needs to grow." Meanwhile, upon his arrival at Berlin airport during his five-day visit, he received a warm welcome from the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC). He is set to participate in a significant IOC event today, where he will meet leaders from across Europe. The IOC teams greeted him with floral tributes, bringing smiles to everyone present.

This event aims to strengthen the Congress party's global outreach and activities. The IOC has indicated that Rahul Gandhi is in Germany to address the Indian diaspora and engage with various party leaders in Europe. They will discuss issues pertinent to non-resident Indians and explore ways to further disseminate the party's ideology. A post from the Indian Overseas Congress's X account expressed pride in welcoming Rahul Gandhi, who will engage with the Indian diaspora in Berlin on December 17. The event will bring together IOC leaders from across Europe, providing a unique platform to discuss key issues, particularly how to strengthen the party and address the concerns of overseas Indians while enhancing connections with more individuals.

During the winter session of Parliament, the announcement of this five-day trip to Germany faced significant criticism from BJP leaders, who questioned the loyalty of the Indian Congress due to these frequent travels. In defense of the trip, Priyanka Gandhi remarked, "If Prime Minister Narendra Modi spends half of his working time abroad, why should there be questions about the opposition leader's travel?" The Germany visit is scheduled to continue until December 20, 2025.
