A Humorous Admission in Parliament

New Delhi: In a candid moment during a Lok Sabha session, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition, humorously acknowledged that his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, achieved in just five minutes what he has struggled to accomplish over two decades. He expressed admiration for her political prowess, stating he has much to learn from her.

His light-hearted comments about Priyanka and a comparison with the Prime Minister elicited laughter from fellow members.

"My sister did in five minutes what I couldn't in 20 years. After watching her speech yesterday, I felt immense pride. She even managed to make Home Minister Amit Shah smile," he remarked.

He further joked that both he and the Prime Minister are free from family issues, which again prompted laughter in the House.

On Thursday, Priyanka Gandhi delivered a strong rebuttal to the government's defense regarding three bills, taking a clever jab at the Home Minister, who was seen smiling during her address.

"If Chanakya were alive today, he would be astonished by the political acumen on display," she said, referring to the government's approach to the women's reservation bill and its surrounding political narrative.

She pointed out that the women's reservation was strategically intertwined with delimitation, indicating a calculated effort to advance it through Parliament.

Joining the discussion on the contentious bills, Rahul Gandhi praised 'nari shakti' (women's power), emphasizing their vital role in society.

He stated, "Women are the driving force in our national consciousness. Each of us has been shaped and educated by the women in our lives, including mothers and sisters." He also shared a personal anecdote from his youth about overcoming his fear of darkness, thanks to his grandmother's wisdom.
