Rahul Gandhi Accuses PM Modi of Betraying India with US Trade Deal

Allegations Against the Prime Minister

On Saturday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of committing 'treason' by entering into a trade agreement with the United States. He expressed concerns that this deal would negatively impact Indian farmers and small businesses. Gandhi made these remarks during the inauguration of the closing ceremony of the state-wide Puthuyug Yatra, led by opposition leader V.D. Satheesan in Kerala. He stated that the Prime Minister has let the nation down and betrayed its trust.

Gandhi claimed that ordinary citizens, particularly farmers and small entrepreneurs, would ultimately bear the burden of this agreement. He noted that no previous Prime Minister had opened Indian agriculture to American agricultural practices. He warned that the entry of large, mechanized American agricultural firms into the Indian market could severely pressure small farmers and lead to significant turmoil in the agricultural sector. Furthermore, he alleged that the energy sector in India has also been affected, asserting that former President Donald Trump obtained sensitive Indian data through this agreement. Gandhi accused Modi of acting under Trump's influence, suggesting that even the Chief Minister of Kerala follows Modi's lead.

He also mentioned the existence of 3.5 million files related to Epstein that have yet to be released, suggesting that the Prime Minister is fearful of their disclosure, particularly since names like Anil Ambani and Hardeep Puri are reportedly included. Gandhi expressed confidence that many more names would emerge from these files. Additionally, he pointed out that the US has filed a criminal case against Adani, implying that Modi is anxious about the potential exposure of BJP's financial dealings to the public. He claimed that Modi's signing of the US-India agreement was a reaction to this fear, citing instances where Trump has openly threatened Modi's political career.

In a direct address to his supporters and leftist activists, Gandhi posed a question regarding the identity of the Communist government in Kerala. He criticized the current administration as the most corporatized government in the state's history, suggesting that they should rename themselves from the Communist Party of India to the Corporatist Party of India to align with their actions.
