Serious Allegations Against Election Commission Ahead of Bihar Polls

SHIMLA: On the eve of the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for November 6, 2025, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has made a significant accusation regarding the integrity of the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections. He claimed that a Brazilian model was among numerous fraudulent voters who allegedly cast multiple votes in the state. Rahul stated that the woman's identity was uncovered through an image scan linked to the electoral rolls, which led to her verified online profile.

Rahul asserted that the foreign model's name and photograph were listed on the Haryana voter registry, and she purportedly voted 22 times at a single polling station in Rai. He emphasized, “This is not a mistake. This is a coordinated effort,” implying that such entries indicate intentional manipulation of the electoral system.

Rahul Claims Duplicate Voters Aided BJP's Victory

The Congress leader alleged that the BJP's success in Haryana was supported by a network of fake and duplicate voters. He claimed, “The BJP won with the assistance of approximately 2.5 million fraudulent voters. One in every eight voters was illegitimate,” while presenting what he referred to as photographic and documentary proof of these fraudulent registrations.

Rahul further mentioned that some individuals were registered multiple times under various identities, citing an example of a woman whose name appeared 223 times across the state. He also alleged that BJP officials from Uttar Pradesh were found voting in Haryana districts.

Accusations of Electoral Theft

Rahul accused the Election Commission of being complicit, claiming that the organization ignored duplicate entries because they favored the ruling party. “What occurred in Haryana was not an election, but a theft. All evidence we possess originates from official Election Commission records,” he stated.

Describing the manipulation as “an industrialized system” aimed at undermining democracy, Rahul cautioned that similar strategies could be employed in future state elections. “What transpired in Haryana will be replicated in Bihar next. This is how democracy is being suffocated,” he warned.
