Rahul Gandhi Speaks at the 'Vote Rights Rally'
During the 'Vote Rights Rally' in Karnataka, Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, emphasized the importance of protecting the Indian Constitution. He highlighted that the voices of prominent figures like Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Patel resonate within the Constitution. Additionally, he mentioned the contributions of Basavanna, Narayana Guru, and Phule. Gandhi asserted that the Constitution grants every citizen the right to vote. He recalled the previous elections, noting that while the India alliance won the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP triumphed in the state assembly elections just four months later, which was surprising. He pointed out that in Maharashtra's assembly elections, one million new voters participated.
Press Conference Revelations
Gandhi stated that during a recent press conference, they demonstrated unequivocally that the Election Commission and the BJP engaged in vote theft. He firmly claimed that the BJP's ideology contradicts the Constitution of India, and every Congress leader and worker is committed to its defense. He demanded that the Election Commission provide them with the voter lists and video recordings from the past decade. Gandhi mentioned that polls in Karnataka indicated they were leading in 15-16 seats, yet they only secured victory in 9, prompting them to question whether they truly lost those seats. He boldly declared that Narendra Modi became Prime Minister through vote theft.
He further explained that they sought assistance from the Election Commission for voter lists and CCTV footage, but received no support. Instead, the law regarding video access was altered. Gandhi expressed frustration that the Election Commission demanded an affidavit from him, stating he had already taken an oath to uphold the Constitution in Parliament. He criticized the Commission for shutting down their website when the public began questioning their data.
Call for Transparency
Gandhi insisted that if the Election Commission provides electronic data, they would conclusively prove that Modi was elected through vote theft. He mentioned that lacking assistance from the Commission, they initiated their own investigation, focusing on the Mahadevapura assembly constituency in Bengaluru Central. He presented findings from this investigation during the press conference, asserting that the BJP and the Election Commission colluded to steal votes. In Mahadevapura, out of 600,000 votes, 100,250 were allegedly stolen, indicating that the BJP stole one vote for every six cast.
