Rahul Dravid Expresses Heartbreak Over Bengaluru Stampede Tragedy

Rahul Dravid's Reaction to the Bengaluru Stampede
The recent stampede in Bengaluru has left a profound impact on former Indian cricket captain and coach Rahul Dravid. In a discussion with a media channel, Dravid conveyed his deep sorrow regarding the tragic events that unfolded during the victory parade. He emphasized the passion of the local community for sports, lamenting the loss of 11 lives in what should have been a celebratory occasion.
"It's incredibly disappointing and sad. Bengaluru is a city that thrives on sports. I hail from here, and the people have a deep affection for all sports, not just cricket. They support various teams, whether in football or kabaddi. It’s truly heartbreaking that such a tragic event occurred. Our thoughts are with those who lost their lives and those who were injured. This tragedy should never have happened."
More than 250,000 fans gathered around Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate the team's inaugural IPL title. Unfortunately, the festive atmosphere turned somber as a stampede resulted in the deaths of 11 individuals and left over 50 others injured.
Legal Developments Regarding RCB's Marketing Head
In a separate incident, the Karnataka High Court has denied interim bail to Nikhil Sosale, the marketing head of Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Sosale was apprehended by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) on June 6 at the Bengaluru airport just before his departure to Dubai.
During the court proceedings, Sosale's attorney, Senior Advocate S Chouta, contested the validity of the arrest, alleging political interference and procedural errors under Section 55 of the BNSS. Chouta pointed out that Sosale's name was not included in the FIR and questioned the CCB's sudden involvement after the case had been transferred to the CID.
The judge requested clarification regarding the authority behind the CCB's actions. The state, represented by Advocate General Shashi Kiran Shetty, assured that all legal documents would be submitted. Justice Krishna Kumar is set to revisit the case on June 11 to review the timeline and legal grounds for the arrest.
