Queen's Park Oval Honors T20 Legends with New Stand Naming

The Queen's Park Cricket Club (QPCC) has officially renamed a stand at the iconic Queen's Park Oval to honor three of Trinidad & Tobago's most renowned cricketers: Dwayne 'DJ' Bravo, Kieron Pollard, and Sunil Narine. This event took place on August 31, coinciding with the nation's 64th Independence Day, marking a significant tribute to these players who have greatly contributed to the legacy of cricket in their homeland.
Previously known as the Trini Posse Stand, the newly named Bravo, Pollard, and Narine Stand celebrates the achievements of these athletes, who have played pivotal roles in the rise of T20 cricket and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Their names now join a prestigious list of cricketing legends associated with Queen's Park Oval, which also features notable structures like the Brian Lara Pavilion and the Learie Constantine Stand.
Record-Breaking Careers in T20
Collectively, Bravo, Pollard, and Narine have set remarkable records in T20 cricket. Kieron Pollard holds the record for the most T20 matches played, exceeding 700, and has scored over 14,000 runs while taking more than 330 wickets. Dwayne Bravo, recognized as one of the format's top all-rounders, concluded his career with 631 T20 wickets, a record at the time, alongside nearly 7,000 runs. Sunil Narine recently became the second bowler in T20 history to achieve 650 wickets and is the leading wicket-taker in CPL history.
Their success spans various global franchise competitions, where they have garnered numerous titles and accolades. Bravo and Pollard are particularly noted for their championship victories, while Narine's consistent performance has made a significant impact in both batting and bowling.
Current Involvement in CPL
Currently, the three cricket legends are in Trinidad & Tobago participating in the 2026 Caribbean Premier League with the Trinbago Knight Riders. Pollard and Narine are actively playing, while Bravo has returned to the franchise in a coaching role for this season.
