Punjab Police Uncovers Inter-State Cheating Syndicate During Pharmacy Exam

Crackdown on Cheating Ring

The Punjab Police have reportedly dismantled an inter-state cheating syndicate operating from Bhivani, Haryana. During the pharmacy examination conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), authorities arrested ten individuals involved in cheating and apprehended 25 candidates. Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on Friday, Punjab's Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains stated that the investigation revealed this was not a case of a paper leak, but rather a highly organized group employing technology and technical devices to facilitate cheating. He emphasized that the Punjab Police had uncovered a network that utilized advanced electronic tools to assist candidates during exams.

Criticism of Haryana Government

The minister alleged that the syndicate was being run by a key suspect based in Bhivani, Haryana. He criticized the Haryana government for its apparent failure to prevent organized exam cheating. Bains asserted that the Bhagwant Mann administration would not allow anyone to tarnish Punjab's education system.

Police Operation Details

Inspector General of Police (Faridkot Range) Neelambari Jagdale mentioned that following intelligence reports about a conspiracy to facilitate cheating during the BFUHS pharmacy exam on July 19, a joint operation was launched by the Counter Intelligence Wing along with police teams from Faridkot and Ferozepur ranges.
