Arrests Made in Arms Trafficking Case

The Punjab Police made significant progress on Thursday by apprehending two individuals linked to a cross-border arms smuggling operation. Authorities seized six advanced firearms, including pistols, from the suspects.


According to Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, the arrested individuals have been identified as Surajpal Singh and Arshdeep Singh, both residents of Tarn Taran. In a post on the social media platform X, Yadav stated that acting on specific intelligence, the Tarn Taran police successfully dismantled a smuggling module connected to Pakistan. The arrests took place in the village of Lakhna, where the police recovered the six sophisticated weapons. The DGP confirmed that a case has been registered, and further investigations are underway.
