Gangster-Related Arrest in Punjab

The 'Gangster Anti-Task Force' of the Punjab Police has apprehended a close associate of gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria in connection with a shooting incident that occurred last month in Ghuman, Batala. This information was confirmed by a senior police official on Sunday.


According to Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, the suspect has been identified as Neelson Masih, also known as Sunny, from Athwal village in Gurdaspur. The shooting took place on May 26 outside a petrol station on the Ghuman-Shri Hargobindpur road, resulting in the death of Gurpreet Singh Gora, also known as Gora Bariyar, while another individual, Billa Mandiwala, sustained injuries.


DGP Yadav revealed that during the interrogation, it was disclosed that Masih was in contact with Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. He further stated that Masih had conspired to murder Gora Bariyar under Bhagwanpuria's orders and executed the attack with three accomplices.


Masih has a criminal record with at least seven cases registered against him, including charges of murder, attempted murder, robbery, and violations of the Arms Act. The Punjab Police chief mentioned that Masih has been handed over to Batala police for further action, and the investigation is ongoing.
