Significant Update on Chief Minister Health Scheme

The Punjab government has announced a crucial update regarding the Chief Minister Health Scheme, aimed at providing affordable healthcare to families. This indicates a strong trust in the health card system among numerous families.

Despite this remarkable success, the government urges all eligible individuals who have not yet registered to do so promptly. Officials emphasize that medical emergencies can arise unexpectedly, and timely registration can alleviate financial burdens during such times.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh stated that this scheme is making healthcare accessible to every citizen of Punjab. He highlighted that the expenditure of over ₹465.36 crores on approximately 277,000 pre-authorization requests and the issuance of over 4.2 million registrations demonstrate public confidence in the program. He encouraged those yet to enroll not to delay, as the scheme offers financial security when needed.

A key feature of this initiative is its open accessibility to all, with no restrictions based on age, gender, or income. This inclusivity makes it one of the most comprehensive health programs in the country.

To facilitate more registrations, the government is organizing daily registration camps in villages, towns, and cities. These camps are set up at convenient locations such as gurdwaras, community centers, and temples. Trained staff are available at these sites to assist individuals, verify documents, and complete registrations on the spot, simplifying the process for everyone.

The government has also addressed common misconceptions. This scheme is not limited to low-income families; it is available to all residents of Punjab. The registration process is straightforward, and assistance is provided at the camps. Treatments at government and listed private hospitals under this scheme are cashless, covering up to ₹10 lakh per family annually, including major surgeries and serious illnesses.

The registration process is easy. Individuals can visit any camp or center without an appointment, bringing necessary documents like their Aadhaar card and voter ID, and complete their registration with staff assistance. After the process is completed, they will receive confirmation via SMS.

The Punjab government is continuously encouraging families in the state to register for this scheme, ensuring that no one has to compromise on healthcare due to financial constraints.
