Honoring the Legacy of Martyrs

On Monday, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Hussainwala to pay heartfelt tributes to the legendary revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day. During this solemn occasion, he reaffirmed his government's unwavering commitment to realizing the vision of a 'Rangla Punjab' (Vibrant Punjab) as envisioned by these martyrs.

Mann invoked the legacy of the nation's greatest revolutionaries and raised concerns about the central government's ongoing neglect in honoring these freedom fighters with the Bharat Ratna.

While paying homage to the martyrs, the Chief Minister remarked that had such courageous, youth-driven leadership shaped the early years of India and been entrusted with the nation's governance, the country's circumstances would have been vastly different.

Foundation Stone for Hussainwala Heritage Complex

At this historic site, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the 'Hussainwala Heritage Complex,' a project costing ₹24.99 crores. Funded under the central government's 'Bharat Darshan Scheme,' this initiative aims to boost tourism in the region and connect the younger generation with the revolutionary history.

Later, addressing a public gathering, he stated, 'Some selfish leaders in the country have built stadiums in their names while alive, yet they have done little to honor martyrs like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, who bravely faced the gallows for the freedom of our motherland.'

Reflections on Freedom and Leadership

He further expressed, 'These great revolutionaries sacrificed their lives at a young age, but after independence, others seized power and claimed credit for the freedom they did not fight for.' Mann also mentioned that his government had to fight for the naming of Mohali Airport as Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport.
