Incident at Delhi Airport
Chandigarh: On Sunday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) reported that Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was held at the Delhi airport for three hours after returning from Paris and was fined Rs 50,000. Officials allegedly mentioned that this action was due to "tremendous pressure from above."
The reasons behind Mann's detention and the fine were not disclosed by the party.
Baltej Pannu, the media in-charge for Punjab AAP, suggested that this incident is linked to the Centre's ongoing refusal to grant Mann permission for international travel, as well as the alleged withholding of funds for Punjab and the management of farmers' protests.
He accused the central government of deliberately creating hurdles that impede Punjab's development.
