Punjab Assembly Session Disrupted by Allegations Against Chief Minister
Chaos Erupts in Punjab Assembly Over Allegations
A special session of the Punjab Assembly dedicated to Labor Day was marred by significant disruptions on Friday. Opposition members accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of attending the proceedings under the influence of alcohol. In response, both the Congress party and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have called for a medical examination of the Chief Minister.
Leader of the Opposition, Pratap Singh Bajwa, intensified the issue by demanding that all MLAs undergo alcohol testing. He stated that given the serious allegations against the "head of the state," it is essential for every legislator to be tested to uncover the truth.

The Shiromani Akali Dal also launched a fierce attack on the Chief Minister, releasing assembly footage and making serious accusations. They labeled it "extremely shameful" that Bhagwant Mann allegedly arrived at the assembly intoxicated on Labor Day. The party urged the public to scrutinize the Chief Minister's behavior and condemned his conduct harshly.
Furthermore, the Akali Dal demanded that Bhagwant Mann undergo a doping test in front of the people of Punjab to reveal the truth. In response to the uproar, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that this special session is dedicated to Labor Day and urged all members to maintain decorum and avoid unnecessary debates in the assembly.
The AAP government convened this special session on May 1 to pay tribute to the working class of the state. A member questioned the benefit of this session for workers, considering the government is in its final phase and in a weakened state.
