Launch of the Punit Balan Cricket Academy

In a major advancement for the sports landscape of Pune, the Punit Balan Group unveiled the Punit Balan Cricket Academy on Saturday. This facility is touted to be the largest private cricket training center in India, designed in accordance with BCCI standards, as stated in a recent press release. The academy aims to offer top-notch facilities and a structured development path for aspiring cricketers from Pune and throughout Maharashtra.

BCCI-Compliant Facilities and Locations

During the announcement, Punit Balan, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Punit Balan Group, revealed that the academy will function from two primary sites: the Sinhgad College Ground in Vadgaon and a specialized cricket ground in Lonavala. Both locations will be equipped with BCCI-compliant facilities, allowing for official BCCI matches to take place starting next season.

"This academy will significantly enhance Pune's cricket infrastructure. All amenities will comply with BCCI regulations, and we will also host official matches from the upcoming season. Players will be coached by BCCI-certified trainers," Balan stated.

Enrollment and Coaching Information

Enrollment for the academy is set to commence on January 1, with coaching sessions beginning on January 15. Balan emphasized that, as the academy is being established as a professional high-performance center, the number of admissions will be restricted.

Comprehensive Training and Inclusivity Initiatives

The academy will provide advanced training options, including indoor practice wickets at both venues to facilitate uninterrupted training during the monsoon season. Additionally, accommodations for outstation players, a gym, a swimming pool, specialized fitness programs, and sports conditioning support will be available.

To promote women's cricket, the academy will offer exclusive, subsidized coaching sessions for female players. Participants will also have the chance to engage in various invitational tournaments through the PBG Judicial Cricket Club.

"The Punit Balan Cricket Academy is dedicated to delivering world-class training to promising and skilled players. With our facilities and expert coaching staff, young cricketers will have the opportunity to excel on both national and international stages, thereby enhancing Maharashtra's reputation in sports," Balan concluded.
