Pune Shocker: IT Professional Assaulted by Fake Courier, Suspect Detained

Pune: In a disturbing incident, a 22-year-old IT professional was reportedly assaulted in her apartment by a man posing as a courier. This occurred in Pune just two days ago, prompting police to detain a suspect.

Authorities are currently investigating any prior connections the suspect may have had with the victim, according to a senior police official.

The assault took place around 7:30 PM on Wednesday in a residential complex located in the Kondhwa area.

As per police reports, the assailant took a selfie with the victim's phone, capturing an image of her back along with part of his face. He then left a threatening message, warning her that he would share her pictures on social media if she reported the crime.

Before entering her home, the suspect claimed to be a delivery agent and presented what appeared to be a bank-related document. He requested a pen to sign a paper, and when she turned away, he entered the apartment, locked the door, and assaulted her, according to her complaint.

The victim reported that she lost consciousness during the attack and regained awareness about an hour later, only to find the assailant had fled.
