Good News for Puducherry Students

The Puducherry government has announced a significant benefit for students attending public schools. Those who secure admission to medical colleges after studying in these institutions will have their entire tuition fees covered by the government. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy made this announcement, stating that the local administration will bear the full tuition costs for students enrolling in undergraduate medical courses during the current academic year.


Eligibility and Reservation Details

According to Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, students who have completed their schooling in government-run institutions and have passed the NEET examination will qualify for this initiative. Additionally, public school students will be granted admission under a 10% horizontal reservation for undergraduate courses. He emphasized that colleges should not pressure students regarding tuition fees, as these will be managed by the administration.


Reservation for Medical Education

In Puducherry, students seeking admission to professional courses are selected through the CENTAC system. The central government has approved the state government's proposal to implement this quota. Furthermore, discussions are ongoing to establish a 10% reservation for students from public schools in medical education.
