A meeting of the Public Grievance Redressal Committee took place at the Savings Bhawan auditorium in Chamba, presided over by Kuldeep Singh Pathania, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly.


The gathering included MLAs from various constituencies, senior officials from administrative and departmental sectors, as well as both government and non-government committee members. The discussions primarily focused on issues related to Public Works, Jal Shakti, Power, Transport, Education, and Health, while also addressing concerns in Agriculture, Revenue, Forest, Social Justice, Food & Civil Supplies, and Rural Development.


During the meeting, the committee reviewed follow-up actions on previously raised issues, formally closing those that had been satisfactorily resolved.


In his closing remarks, Speaker Pathania commended the officials for their timely responses to public grievances. He highlighted the committee's essential role in promoting justice and development for residents in rural and remote regions through effective collaboration among administration, departments, and committee members. He instructed the district administration to keep committee members updated on decisions made during the meeting and emphasized the necessity of holding such meetings every three months.


Pathania also celebrated the achievement of resolving 100% of grievances submitted over the last three years. He urged the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) to explore additional bus routes to enhance connectivity in remote areas and requested the Regional Transport Officer to finalize the bus timetable between the new and old bus stands within two days to minimize commuter inconvenience.


Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal expressed his appreciation for the Speaker's guidance and assured adherence to the directives given. He also presented the Speaker with a traditional shawl, cap, and Chamba Thal.


The meeting was attended by MLAs Neeraj Nair (Chamba), Dr. Janak Raj (Bharmaur), D.S. Thakur (Dalhousie), APMC Chairman Lalit Thakur, District Congress Committee President Surjit Bharmauri, senior Congress leader Kamal Thakur, along with senior administrative officials including SP Vijay Saklani, ADC Amit Mehra, SDMs from Chamba, Salooni, Tissa, and Bhatiyat, and heads of various departments.
