The President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), PT Usha, recently engaged in discussions with Anri Parker, the CEO of the Namibia National Olympic Committee (NNOC). Their meeting focused on enhancing the sporting relationship between India and Namibia, coinciding with the ongoing Asian Games 2026. Usha expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, 'We reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening sporting ties between India and Namibia, with a focus on mutual sports development, sharing of expertise, and athlete exchange initiatives.'

Soft Tennis Pair Advances to Round of 16

In other news, the mixed doubles team of Aadhya Tiwari and Jay Meena has successfully reached the round of 16 in soft tennis at the Asian Games taking place in Aichi-Nagoya. They kicked off their tournament with a commanding 5-0 victory against Cambodia's Viva Chao and Chanroseka Khun, winning sets with scores of 4–1, 4–0, 4–2, 4–1, and 4–2. Following this, they triumphed over Mongolia's Bud Nyamdorj and Enkhkhuslen Ganbaatar with another 5-0 win, with set scores of 4–2, 4–1, 4–1, 4–0, and 5–3. However, they faced a setback in their final group match against South Korea, losing 5-1 but still secured a spot in the round of 16.

India Wins Silver in Men's 10m Air Rifle Team Event

Earlier today, India's shooting team continued its medal streak at the Asian Games 2026, with Rudrankksh Patil, Parth Mane, and Himanshu Dhillon clinching a silver medal in the men's 10m air rifle team event. The team scored a total of 1890.1, falling short of China's first-place score of 1899.0. South Korea secured the bronze medal with a score of 1841.4. This achievement marks India's third silver medal in shooting at the ongoing games.

In the individual qualifying round for the men's 10m air rifle, Rudrankksh placed third with a score of 631.8, while Himanshu finished seventh with 630.0, and Parth came in 11th with 628.3. Both Rudrankksh and Himanshu qualified for the individual finals, which are scheduled to take place later.
