Trinamool Congress MPs Stage Walkout
Members of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) exited the Rajya Sabha in protest against the Election Commission's recent decision to remove several high-ranking officials in West Bengal, just after the announcement of the Assembly election schedule.

The Election Commission's actions included the dismissal of Director General of Police Peeyush Pandey, Kolkata Commissioner of Police Supratim Sarkar, and Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty.
Furthermore, the Commission mandated that these officials should not be assigned to any election-related duties until the elections conclude.

The elections are set to take place in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with results expected to be announced on May 4.
Haryana Government's Decision on Professor's Prosecution
The Haryana government informed the Supreme Court that it would not approve the prosecution of Ashoka University Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad regarding his comments on Operation Sindoor press briefings.
The Supreme Court bench, led by Chief Justice Surya Kant, subsequently dismissed the criminal proceedings against Mahmudabad but advised him to exercise caution in the future.
Background on the Case
Mahmudabad faced charges in May for a social media post that criticized Hindutva commentators who praised Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, an Army representative during the briefings. He was arrested on May 18 but was granted bail shortly thereafter.
