Growing Anger Over NEET-UG Exam Leak

Following allegations of a leaked exam paper, students and various organizations in the national capital have intensified their protests against the cancellation of the NEET-UG examination, leading to rising anger and frustration among the public. Demonstrators gathered outside the National Testing Agency (NTA) office, expressing their dissatisfaction and demanding accountability from officials. A spokesperson from the Alternative Politics Students' Organization (ASAP) criticized the current administration for repeated irregularities in the examination process, claiming this is the fourth or fifth such incident during the tenure of the BJP government.

Additional Protests Organized at Jantar Mantar

Under the leadership of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Union, further protests were held at Jantar Mantar. Protesters displayed placards and made several demands, including the removal of the Union Education Minister. In response to the unrest, the NTA announced the rescheduling of the NEET-UG 2026 examination. Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) presented all five accused arrested in the alleged NEET-UG 2026 question paper leak case before a Delhi court on Thursday.

Details of the Arrests and Investigation

Officials reported that the five accused, arrested from various states on charges of alleged involvement in the case, were brought before Special Judge Ajay Gupta. The accused have been identified as Shubham Khairnar from Nashik (Maharashtra), Mangilal Bival from Jaipur (Rajasthan), Vikas Bival, Dinesh Bival, and Yash Yadav from Gurugram (Haryana). The CBI brought Khairnar, aged 30, to Delhi after obtaining a two-day transit remand from a Mumbai court.

Allegations Against Khairnar

Khairnar, a resident of Nandgaon in Nashik district, is reportedly involved in the question paper leak. The CBI previously argued in a Mumbai court for Khairnar's transit remand, citing suspicions of involvement from individuals across multiple states and the necessity for custody to facilitate further questioning. The NEET-UG 2026 examination was conducted on May 3.
