NSUI Demonstrates in Guwahati


Guwahati, Feb 25: On Tuesday, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) held a protest in Guwahati, voicing their concerns over the privatization of education and the shutdown of government schools in Assam.


Students from various educational institutions gathered at Rajiv Bhawan on GS Road for a meeting organized by the NSUI.


Following the meeting, the NSUI attempted to march from Rajiv Bhawan to Dispur.


However, a significant police presence was noted outside Rajiv Bhawan, with barricades erected to prevent the protesters from proceeding.


In an attempt to breach the barricades, NSUI members clashed with the police, resulting in a few minor injuries among the protesters, as reported by Kaushik Kashyap, the president of the NSUI's Assam unit.
