Celebrating Mother's Day with Project Amarjeet

On Mother's Day, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Khadse, commended the recent efforts of Project Amarjeet. This initiative was launched by Olympic bronze medalist Gagan Narang and former shooter Annu Raj Singh, who announced the distribution of five lakh pellets to shooting ranges and athletes throughout India. The program, revealed on Sunday, aims to provide 1,000 tins of pellets to those in need of training assistance. Both Narang and Singh have generously contributed 500 tins each, with each tin containing 500 pellets.

In a heartfelt video message shared on Instagram, Khadse praised the initiative and emphasized the significant influence mothers have on the careers of athletes. He stated, "A mother plays a crucial role in our lives, always supporting her child’s journey. On this Mother's Day, our sports star Gagan Narang has initiated Project Amarjeet, which will offer free training to many athletes in our country, giving them the opportunity to represent our nation. I wish them great success with this project."

Project Amarjeet: Honoring Mothers

Project Amarjeet is dedicated to honoring mothers who have tirelessly supported their children's aspirations in sports, often making personal sacrifices, as noted in a press release.

Narang, one of the co-founders of Project Amarjeet, shared, "My mother, Amarjeet, would wake up early to prepare me for my day. She drove me to the shooting range and waited patiently, never asking for anything in return. This initiative, providing five lakh pellets, is our way of honoring her and all mothers who have supported their children in pursuing their passion for sports."

Annu Raj Singh, the other co-founder, remarked, "No young shooter should be hindered by a lack of pellets. While talent is abundant in our country, access is not. By distributing five lakh pellets to those who need them most, Project Amarjeet aims to bridge that gap."

The pellets are supplied by Charrey.in, the first charity partner of Project Amarjeet, at cost price to ensure maximum outreach for aspiring shooters nationwide.
