Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress leader and MP from Wayanad, expressed her joy on Wednesday regarding the approval of a government medical college in Wayanad, calling it a long-held dream come true.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) granted approval on Tuesday for two new government medical colleges in the districts of Wayanad and Kasaragod in Kerala.

In a post on 'X', Priyanka stated, 'The efforts of millions of people in Wayanad, along with Rahul Gandhi's relentless advocacy and our collective push for progress, have borne fruit.'

She extended her heartfelt gratitude to all parties involved for listening to their appeals and taking a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services for the citizens of Wayanad.

Priyanka expressed hope that the state government would expedite construction and take all necessary measures to make the college operational as soon as possible.

She concluded by urging everyone to work together towards the shared goal of development and progress for those who need it most, congratulating her brothers and sisters who have long awaited this moment. Both medical colleges in Wayanad and Kasaragod have been approved to admit 50 MBBS students each for the upcoming academic year.
