Concerns Over Violence Against Hindus in Bangladesh

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress General Secretary, has expressed her alarm regarding the recent murder of a Hindu man by a mob in Bangladesh. She emphasized that the Indian government must take note of the escalating violence against minorities in that country and should raise this issue firmly with the Bangladeshi authorities.


The incident involved the brutal beating and subsequent burning of a Hindu individual accused of blasphemy, marking yet another instance of violence directed at religious minorities in Bangladesh.


According to reports from a news portal, the victim has been identified as 25-year-old Dipu Chandra Das, who was employed at a factory in the city of Mymensingh. Priyanka Gandhi took to social media to express her distress over the brutal murder of Dipu Chandra Das, stating that such acts of discrimination, violence, and murder based on religion, caste, or identity are crimes against humanity in any civilized society.


She further urged the Indian government to acknowledge the rising violence against Hindus, Christians, and Buddhists in the neighboring country and to advocate for their safety with the Bangladeshi government.
