Priyanka Gandhi noted that the educated individuals she meets often struggle to find employment, and when they do, it is frequently outside Kerala. The voting for the Kerala Assembly elections is scheduled for April 9, with the counting of votes set for May 4. The current assembly's term will conclude on May 23. In the 2021 elections, the LDF retained power with 99 seats, becoming the first ruling government to win two consecutive terms since 1977. The UDF secured 41 seats, while the NDA, despite receiving 11.4% of the votes, did not win any seats.

Following this victory, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan became the first chief minister of Kerala to be re-elected after completing a full five-year term. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) emerged as the largest party with 62 seats, while Congress won 21 and CPI secured 17 seats. The Indian Union Muslim League, a key ally of the UDF, obtained 15 seats. Given Satishan's central role in the UDF's campaign across the state, the results from Peravoor are being closely monitored, as they will indicate both the electoral prospects of the front and their leadership capabilities in Kerala's political landscape.
