Priyanka Gandhi Critiques Government Over Exam Paper Leak and Education Policies
Priyanka Gandhi's Strong Criticism in Lok Sabha
During a recent debate in the Lok Sabha regarding the 'Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill', Priyanka Gandhi expressed her discontent with the central government over the issue of exam paper leaks and the appointment of the new education minister. She highlighted the stark contrast between the government's celebratory mood and the grief of a family in Maharashtra mourning the loss of their daughter due to the paper leak incident. Priyanka raised concerns about the government's sensitivity towards students and criticized the new education minister's appointment, suggesting it sends a troubling message about justice and accountability for girls across the nation.
Concerns Over Education System and Job Creation
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra pointed out that the current administration has consistently undermined sectors that generate employment. She stated that the examination system has failed, citing 152 instances of paper leaks over the past decade, which have affected millions of students, yet no one has been punished for these offenses. She accused the government of hollowing out the education system by filling it with RSS propagandists and criticized the forced implementation of the NTA, which she believes has exacerbated the situation. Furthermore, she noted that the education budget's share in the national budget has been decreasing rather than increasing each year.
Call for Accountability from the Prime Minister
Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent interaction with youth on Instagram, Priyanka Gandhi remarked that changing camera angles does not alter the truth. She urged the Prime Minister to genuinely understand the grievances of the youth. Priyanka demanded answers from both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, questioning why they fear the youth of the country and who granted them the authority to suppress students. She expressed concern over the police's alleged actions during protests, questioning the use of tear gas, baton charges, water cannons, and pellet guns against demonstrators. She insisted that the Congress party is seeking answers and asked who would provide them, specifically inquiring about the orders for using pellet guns.
Questioning the Use of Force Against Students
Priyanka Gandhi questioned the necessity of using tear gas, baton charges, and water cannons against students. She condemned the humiliation and inhumane treatment faced by young women during protests, raising alarms over reports of pellet guns and AK-47 rifles being used. She asked what warranted such extreme measures against the youth of the nation, emphasizing that they are not terrorists.
