Opposition Protests Against Labor Codes

On Wednesday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra condemned the central government for introducing four new labor codes, claiming that these measures have stripped workers of their rights and opened avenues for exploitation. Alongside other opposition parties, Congress staged protests outside Parliament against these labor codes. In a social media post, Priyanka Gandhi emphasized that the protections previously afforded to workers have been revoked.

Government's Response to Protests

Priyanka Gandhi pointed out that the government has introduced these four labor codes under the guise of simplifying labor laws, effectively taking away all rights from workers. She criticized the government for removing the safeguards that were once in place, thereby facilitating new forms of exploitation. According to her, these laws reveal Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pro-capitalist and anti-labor mindset, which she believes the nation will not accept.

Minister's Remarks on Opposition

Central Textile Minister Giriraj Singh responded to the opposition's protests in Parliament, accusing them of seeking media attention due to their loss of public support. He stated that their actions are merely attempts to attract media coverage, as they have been rejected by the public. Singh remarked that outside Parliament, they speak against the chairperson, indicating they have nothing substantial to contribute.

Congress Leaders Join Protests

Among those participating in the protests against the four labor codes in the Parliament complex were Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi, former party president Rahul Gandhi, and MP Priyanka Gandhi.
