Prithika, along with teammates Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Chikitha Taniparthi, triumphed in the women's compound archery team event.

Tears of Joy

In an interview, Pradeep shared that he was watching the match alone in Mumbai when he realized Prithika was on the verge of winning gold. "I was alone in Mumbai, and when I saw she was about to win—given her consistent performance—it was evident. The first thought that came to my mind was the years of hard work she and her coach had invested over the last 7-8 years," he recounted. "I couldn't help but tear up immediately."

A Journey of Passion

Reflecting on Prithika's journey, he acknowledged the challenges faced along the way but emphasized her unwavering passion for archery. "The path to this achievement was certainly challenging, but Prithika's enthusiasm never faltered. I must also commend her coach for their guidance," he stated.

Pradeep and his wife prioritized being supportive parents, focusing on how sports could positively influence Prithika's character. "Our role was to be her support system. For us, it was essential that sports helped her grow as a person, and we could see that happening," he explained.

Beyond Material Success

He expressed that the joy from winning the gold medal transcends any professional or financial success. "The happiness derived from winning gold for the country is a feeling that surpasses career or monetary achievements," Pradeep remarked.

Dominating Performance Secures Gold

Prithika, Jyothi, and Chikitha showcased an impressive performance, clinching the top position in the women's compound team event, contributing to India's medal tally at the Asian Games.

The Indian archers displayed exceptional skill in the final against China, winning with a score of 238-234. They maintained their lead from the outset, marking Jyothi's fourth Asian Games gold and the first for both Chikitha and Prithika in their debut appearances.
